Italodance

The word dance contains a lot of meanings. A lot of kinds of dance surrounds that simple word.

My favorite kind of dance is Italodance.

Italodance is a kind of dance music born in 1998. After that year grew a lot reaching is peak in 2001, where was popular all over the world. After, something changed and now days unfortunately is very hard to find songs or sounds like that and very difficult to hear them inside clubs.

Characterized by a lot of melody, use of piano and usually lyrics about love, Italodance has been for some years the most commercial music in all radio stations and the Italian djs were the most famous.

But every, more or less, 10 years things, especially in music, change. The rhythms tend to change and new sounds are discovered.

This is what happened with this kind of music. Most of the producers decided to change, obviously because making songs that were not played anymore and were not popular was too risky for their careers.

However some producers decided instead to fallow their passion and continued to made Italodance songs.

Unfortunately it’s very hard to find them, but a good research is always helpful.

As I said the rhythm change. It’s true and in fact for some years, 2005 till 2007, there was a lot of confusion on the dance music scene.

Now things are taking a direction and the music is becoming, once again, melodic in some ways as the one in the past even if with different sounds. It seems like a little rapprochement to Italodance but with different sounds.

Who knows, maybe one day Italodance will come definatly come back.
